Vaporization of Water
1. Calculate Q,W and delta U for the conversion of 1 mole of liquid water to steam at T = 100C and P = 1 atm. The heat of vaporization of water is 9720 cal/mol.

2. From the result of problem 1, estimate the approximate energy in one mole of hydrogen bonds. Explain your reasoning.

3. Determine delta H for the partial combustion of 1 g of carbon to carbon monoxide, using the following heats of combustion:
delta H_comb for C (solid) = - 97.64 kcal/mol
delta H_comb for CO (gas) = - 94.05 kcal/mol
