A paper mill received three orders: one for 100 ft of 5 ft wide paper, one for 300 ft of 7 ft wide paper and one for 200 ft of 9 ft wide paper. The orders will be filled by cutting from either a 10 ft or a 20 ft very long roll of paper using some combination of the patterns listed below:
The patterns having a "1" as their first digit (e.g. x12) are cut from 10 ft. wide rolls.
The patterns having 2 as their first digit are cut from 20 ft. wide rolls. Set up and run the LP to minimize trim waste measured in square feet.
For each size required (5, 7 and 9 feet) compute how many more feet were cut than needed.
