Question - Electric, Inc. (EI) is one of the largest companies in the world with sales of more than $755 billion. The company's balance sheet on January 1, 2009, had total assets of $338 billion and stockholders' equity (called shareowners' equity by EI) of $82 billion.

Required -

1. Compute EI's total liabilities on January 1, 2009.

2. As of January 1, 2009, EI had issued 9,227,330,000 shares of common stock. Assume a par value of s $0.05 per share. Compute the balance in the account, Common Stock, Par Value on EI's balance sheet.
