Derive equations to compute component fugacity coefficients in a binary mixture using the virial equation of state truncated after the second virial coefficient. The mixture second virial coefficient is given as B = Y1B1 + Y2B2 + Y1Y2? 12 where? 12 = 2B12 – B1 – B2 B1 and B2 are the second virial coefficients of components 1 and 2, and B12 is the interaction second virial coefficient. Express the virial equation of state in the subsequent alternative form, truncated after the second virial coefficient: PV/RT = z = 1 + BP/RT Hint: The component fugacity coefficient in a mixture is a partial property, and is calculated as the partial derivative of the corresponding total property by respect to the number of moles of the component in question in the mixture.
