Question

The implementation of a strict no-visitor policy during a lockdown may have unintended consequences that compromise healthcare access, equality, and overall patient well-being, despite my understanding of the need for caution and risk mitigation during a pandemic. Let me list a few of the reasons this policy bothers me. First off, patient morale and emotional health may suffer greatly when visitation rights are restricted. The beneficial effects of social support on patients' recovery and mental health have been demonstrated by numerous studies. Complete separation from family members runs the risk of escalating depressive, anxious, and lonely feelings in patients, which can impede their ability to heal. The American Journal of Infection Control released a report that emphasizes how crucial visitor participation is to infection prevention.
