Stellar Manufacturing has been operating without a formal health and safety plan since its inception five years ago. It has 1,500 employees and 750 trucks as it delivers its products throughout the US. Over this time, it has experienced several serious workers' compensation claims, both first party and third party vehicle claims and has even had a few product liability claims.

The CEO has hired you to design a comprehensive health and safety program for the organization. Using the eight elements from learning objective 6 on page 20 of section 1, be creative and give two examples of each that you would include in your plan.

Example:

Management leadership -

- Initiate safety drills and actively participate in the drills

- Compile a safety manual detailing safety expectations of all employees and how the goals will be obtained

- Develop training programs that effectively cover the safety manual. Provide written information that is easy for all employees to understand. Create quick reference guides outlining information that will probably occur day to day. Have resources readily available.
