1. After reading pages 262-264 containing information about Criterion-Referenced test, compare and contrast two types of Criterion-Referenced Test. describe how they are alike and how they are different.
2. Respond to the questions in Chapter 9's "Thinking Critically about Grammar" on pages 233-4. Then, reflect on how grammatical ambiguity can create (or has created) interpretive problems with other laws or written policies. What sorts of ambiguity have you encountered in written policies, procedures, etc.?
3. On pages 272-274 Wong and Wong discuss Rubrics, also known as Scoring Guides. Compose an Initial post discussing the effectiveness of rubrics in your past courses, and if they proved to be useful in completing assignments or projects.
4. Look at the Handout titled "Writing Samples from Common Core Standards Download Writing Samples from Common Core Standards". This handout contains examples of kindergarten and 1st-grade student writing taken from the Common Core State Standards.
What do you think of the examples shared? Do you feel that they are reflective of a typical student in the grade level? Why or why not? What do you think we need to do with our writing curriculum in most schools to help students become more proficient in writing?
