1. Identify the key components of a modern marketing information system. What outputs does it produce that support strategic planning efforts? My two commercial vendors of marketing information systems for healthcare providers are Optum and McKesson Corporation. How do each other these vendors describe their offerings, their functions, and the benefits they provide to healthcare organizations?

2. What are the key elements of an HR Strategic Plan?

3. Visit a healthcare organization's website and find out how they describe their ethical principles if mentioned on the site. Do they define behaviors they expect from employees and stakeholders? What impression does the statement make regarding where you want to work or be a patient? You can use one of the Baldrige winners if you want an easy way to find an organization.

4. Why is managing strategic change so difficult?

5. Read up on the process improvement program, Six Sigma, and the lean concept and provide a brief description. It is possible to earn certification in these techniques. Would that be a useful credential for your career in Healthcare management or acquisition and Contract management?

6. Why is SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis useful? Describe the usefulness of the tool.
