Complete the Project Charter and Project Scope Statement worksheets.
Before you begin working on this assignment, please review the Project page for an overview of the entire project. The Project page is available from anywhere within this course by clicking on the Project tab in the top navigation bar.
Choose a project. The project can be real or imaginary; however, it must meet these requirements:
If it is a real project, you must have access to relevant source material about the project.
Whether real or imaginary, you must have one or more subject-matter experts (SMEs) they can potentially use as a resource. The SMEs do not have to be involved in the project; they only need relevant experience.
Subsequent project assignments in this course will build on the real or imaginary project you select for this assignment.
Prepare yourself for this exercise by reading the complete set of instructions.
Save to your desktop this set of project management worksheets.
Tip: You will also use these worksheets in subsequent modules of this course.
In the worksheets, find these two sections: The Project Charter and The Project Scope Statement.
Familiarize yourself with these sections so that you can complete the next steps. You will notice that these two documents have a lot of overlap related to the basic description of the project. But the Project Scope Statement contains some information not included in the Project Charter.
