Question: A Vendor sells custom software with a development contract that promises the applications will be "completely tested." In fact, the testing done by Vendor includes complete statement and branch coverage. When vendor delivers a product to Customer, the product corrupts its data without indicating any problem, and Customer loses $2 million. This is a serious bug. Customer sues, arguing that no product that has a serious bug could have been completely testedThe Vendor responds with two arguments: First, that complete statement and branch coverage is complete testing.
