Cambridge dictionary: 'An examination of the value, condition, qualities, etc. of something' So, breaking down this task - you are to undertake a closer examination into one of the above developments (or another you can think of) relating to the education and care sector and apply this to improving on own practice How to examine/ appraise this:

• Note down what sector development you have chosen

• Explain why you think this is an important development for the sector

• Describe some of ethical and legal requirements for this area of development to consider

• Reflect on the education and care setting - How does this area of development affect/impact on the setting for children, educators and families

• How does the service / scheme philosophy, policies, QIP underpin this area of development?

• Create an improvement plan for your sector development. You can create your own or use your services template. This improvement plan should include; areas identified for improvement, simple strategies for improvement, how these improvements could be implemented, and how these improvements could be reviewed.
