Movement analysis for the 4 movements:
o Standing up from a chair
o Going up 5 steps
o Kicking a ball with his left foot
o Squats in the gym - while holding a gym ball in front of his body
You are to analyse the movements from the lateral view for each movement
You are to include all joints - wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle and complete a movement analysis on these four movements.
You will need to locate and apply markers to the bony land marks on the model before you video the tasks. This skill will be learnt and practiced in practical classes. if the joint is not staying in the same plane eg wrist don't worry about it too much - just include in your description of the movement what occurs at that joint
You will use the bony landmarks to determine the joint angles (note you are to use standardised joint angle - information on this will be provided in the practical class)
From the joint angles measured you will then plot these on a hand written graph (not computer generated)- joint angle on the y axis vs time on the x axis ensure you have taken enough measurements at regular time intervals to see changes in joint ROM egevry 0.2 second IT MUST ALSO BE HAND DRAWN NOT COMPUTER GENERATED OFF EXCEL , HAND DRAW IT THEN SCAN IT IN
For each movement you can present each joint angle vs time on separate graphs or on one graph - but it must be clearly presented and easy to follow
You are to use as many time variables as is needed for the activity to provide a clear indication of the changes in each joint movement through the activity.
You are also to include a written description of the movement analysis from observing the movements from the static starting position to the static finishing position in plain English (language used is understandable by a student in BMS257)
You are also required to include a print screen photo / screen shot for each movement. print shot is just of the model doing the activity - just to show you have done the assignment
You are required to find a subject to demonstrate the movement as the basis for your analysis.
Presentation - in the form of word document with screen shots / print screen pictures embedded into the document and with graphs for each activity and joints.
Display the graphs so it is easy to read eg joint range of movement, for example - upper limb on one graph, lower limb on another. The graphs should have a title and labelled axes.
Screeshot and subject part is done.. only need to answer questions, make table and graphs.
