Directions:
Part 1: Walking Tour: Complete a historical walking tour and answer questions 1-5.
For a list of tours go to the government of Alberta Government Department of Culture and Tourism (Links to an external site.)website. Look for the Lethbridge Historical Walking Tour
o Given the recent Covid 19 issues, you may use a virtual tour as an alternative. The tour must be a Canadian location.
o Is there a different tour you are interested in? Please discuss options with your instructor.
From your tour, answer the following questions:
Question 1. What are unique characteristics of the locations on the tour?
Question 2. What timeframes do the locations represent?
Question 3. What do the locations suggest about the identity or character of the community?
Question 4. Are there other locations that you would include on the tour?
Question 5. Include pictures of yourself at the 4-5 stops on the tour.
Part 2: Create a tour.
You are the Community Services Coordinator for your local community. A local college class will be visiting your community, and you have been asked to create a historical walking tour.
The tour should include the following:
• 5-7 locations, that were not part of the Walking Tour you completed in Part 1.
• For each location, you need the following information:
Part 1. Describe the location
Part 2. Identify when it was established
Part 3. Describe what it is currently used for
Part 4. Describe any unique features of the location.
• Create a map to guide your tour
Format
• The assignment is to include a title page, page numbering and headings as indicated. The structure of the project will be as follows:
o Title page
– Your name and Lethbridge College ID, title of paper, course name and number, instructor's name and date
o Part 1
– Use the questions from Part 1 above as subheadings, and provide an answer in paragraph format.
o Part 2
– Use the questions from Part 2 above as subheadings, and provide an answer in paragraph format.
– Or - you can present your tour as a brochure, or online activity. Please discuss options with your instructor.
o Reference page
o The analysis must be written in your own words using appropriate references and in APA research.
o Complete sentences with proper grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and paragraphs are expected.
o Length:
– The completed project should be 1000 words + title page and reference page.
– The assignment should be submitted as a word .doc or .docx file to the Angel assignment drop box.
