Nora Sheridan is at the clinic with complaints of urinary frequency, urgency, dysuria, and blood in the urine. During the previous 6 months Nora had been having problems with UTIs. She wants to know why these infections continue to occur and whether she can do anything to prevent them. Nora says that she has a lot of deadlines at work and that it is difficult to find time to come to the medical office. She says that her drugstore sells urine testing strips. Nora wants to know whether she could get a bottle of the strips and test her urine at home when she is having problems. That way she could just contact the office when she has positive test results and the physician could call in a prescription for an antibiotic for her. How would you respond to the patient? Why?
