A 75-year-old female presents with complaints of short-term memory loss. She states that her family insisted she come "be checked out." The family notes that the patient forgets conversations and appointments and repeats herself often. This behavior has been present for more than 6 months but is increasing in frequency. The patient's long-term memory is intact. Discuss the diagnostic tests that you would use to evaluate this patient. Include written, oral, radiological, and laboratory tests.
