A 52 yr old female comes to your office with the complaint of tired and fatigue. Denies any signs of bleeding but does complain of some SOB with exertion this past week. You order some labs to check her blood counts and they return as follows: Wbc 6.1 /l TiBC 410 HH 8.2/24 g/dl Iron sat 28 Plt 202 /mcl Ferritin 16 What other questions may you want to ask this patient? What diagnosis would you suspect for this patient? What if the TIBC was 189, would that change your diagnosis? What would you order or do next? Why? Is there any education you should provide?
