Mr. Thomas, a 45-year-old masters swimmer comes to you complaining of right shoulder pain that has been getting progressively worse over the past several months. He states that he has been swimming approximately 2000 m per day. She reports that the pain remains localized to the lateral shoulder and is most painful when performing overhead movements. When assessing her posture, you notice the scapula on the right side is elevated and has some anterior tilt at rest. Your clinical impression from the assessment is that she has internal impingement.
