Instruction
1. In this problem, you are given a program (p6-a.c) with a buffer overflow vulnerability. Study the program to understand the vulnerability. Compile the program and then observe the buffer overflow behaviors. Change the buffer (array) size and/or the loop size to get different program behaviors. For each different program behavior you observe, you earns 20 points, with full mark of 50 points. Different program behaviors include anything different in output, infinite loop, and different types of crash. That is, anything observable can be counted.
2. In this problem, you are given a program (p6-b.c) with a buffer overflow vulnerability. Study the program to understand the vulnerability. Compile the program. Test its output. Your task is to construct "reliable" inputs, with potential buffer overflows, to get the desired output. You'll get full mark if you can cause the program to output: a) "OK"; b) "Hacked!" By "reliable" input, I mean with the input the program always outputs as you intended.
A report contains your observation, including the screenshots of your modification in Problem 1, 'reliable' input in Problem 2, corresponding output in both problems, and any other necessary information that can prove your observation.
