In this assignment, we will put together our own compilation of model systems. Below each of you has been assigned a model system to explore further. Using material from readings and some straightforward, online research, in your own words write a report that can be shared later with the rest of the class. This concise and articulate report written in prose (600 words) should include the following:

How the organism can be genetically engineered

Identify any strengths it has as a model system, in other words, why did they develop this as a model system for bio-production?

The growth conditions required and the scalability of the process,

The types of biomolecules (small and protein) which can be produced,

How the biomolecules are harvested,

Any examples of commercially available products which use that organism.
