Purpose
This activity will help you recognize that in today's competitive hiring environment, benefits are beginning to emerge as "game changers" when it comes to an organization's employee value proposition. Companies are becoming very creative with some of their benefits offers.
Conduct research on the various traditional benefits such as health, dental, vision etc. and also on "out of box" benefits such as paid paternity and maternity leave, flex schedules, telecommuting, on-site medical clinics and daycare, on-site chefs etc.
Based on your research, discuss benefits as a competitive advantage using the questions below to guide your discussion:
1. Do you believe benefits can, in fact, be a competitive advantage when it comes to hiring and retaining employees? Why or Why not?
