After reviewing the “Exercise Strategy: Changing compensation to support changes in corporate strategy” in the chapter 11 of Pay Structure Decisions by Noe et al, please suggest an answer to the following question: “How did shifting product market conditions affect Corning’s restructuring and its success?” I would like a more descriptive and detailed answer than "The strategic goal of Owens Corning new game was creating and maintaining organizational flexibility, thus enabling rapid responses to new markets and responding to global competition. That flexibility had to be created throughout the organization. The leadership team had to develop “strategic flexibility”, maintaining the ability to determine key markets and properly positioning products and services for those markets. OC made strategic organization design a core business competency that identified changes in the marketplace and consciously adapted the structures and processes of the organization to remain competitive." The case does not refer to any Owens Corning new game. Please respond.
