ABC software in downtown Seattle has decided to relocate it 400 person operation closer to a key business partner, Microsoft in nearby Redmond, a move of about 16 miles. Commuting to the new location will be a major change for at least half of the employees who live in the Seattle area, while the balance of the staff already works near the new location. Commutes for the Seattle employees will increase on average from 20 minutes to over 45 for some. For a few who take a ferry from islands in Puget Sound, the commute would become 2 hours each way.
