Assignment - We have an Extended Experimental Investigation on HEAT OF COMBUSTION, my chosen substances are Methanol, Ethanol, Butanol and Pentanol all the basic alcohols. The topic researching is, "Determining and comparing the trends in heat of combustion of homologous series.

Discussion: The discussion interpretation and analysis of the results and explanation to establish the significance of the data.

Briefly indicate the main relationships that were inferred from the experimental results. Compare your results with published results in the literature.
Explain your results using scientific concepts, theories and principles.
Critically assess the reliability of the results and compare them with those expected/predicted. Identify and analyse any errors and anomalies in your results, the possible causes and improvements.
Discuss any problems and difficulties that were encountered during the experiment and suggest strategies for improvement.
The results of the experiment should be related to the context of the published literature as contained in the Introduction.

I am in year 11 currently doing Chemistry. We have an Extended Experimental Investigation on HEAT OF COMBUSTION, my chosen substances are Methanol, Ethanol, Butanol and Pentanol all the basic alcohols. The topic I am researching is, "Determining and comparing the trends in heat of combustion of homologous series, my teacher said that it should be from 1000-1500 words but I would like 2000 the introduction should only be one page, It's an EEI.

To make it easier this is what my teacher had given us to use he only wants 1 page for the introduction of the assignment.. I was not there when the experiment was done but have got the results and data as said before I am only doing methanol, ethanol, butanol and pentanol. I have attached on the bottom my results and task sheet this assignment needs to be completed.

You are to complete a paper based journal throughout the investigation and submit it with your final report. The journal will be used as a project planning book and to monitor progress.
