Assignment: Compare your life purpose statement with your identified values. As a part of exploring your values framework, it is important to go beyond knowledge of your core values to an interrogation of them. In two pages or less, discuss the relationship between your actual values and your life purpose statement. Also, discuss the nature of other values (i.e., preferred values) that may be more consistent with your life purpose statement and how you can reinforce them as core values in your life. Write your reflections in your learning journal.

1. As you look at your list of actual core values, how do they measure up against your life purpose statement?

2. How does each value specifically support (or not support) who you want to be as expressed in each part of your purpose statement?

3. Are your actual core values the values that you want to guide your life in the future? LIFE PURPOSE STATEMENT As I've already stated, I think I've been given many chances to live, be healthy, have food to eat, and have a roof over my head. Even though these seemingly straightforward needs may seem simple, they are the toughest to accomplish in today's world. Knowing that there is more to life than just getting by and surviving, is the only thing that will keep me motivated and keep me intrigued so that I may satisfy not just my own desires but also of those around me. Hence, my purpose statement measures up well against your ultimate values.
