1. Reflect on your understanding of the historical nature of Acts. Do the theological objectives of Luke diminish the writing's historical credibility? 2. The Depiction of Judaism in Acts: Throughout Acts, we find that the apostles and many other Christians experienced strong opposition from the Jewish people. We also find that there were significant conflicts within early Christianity relating to the ongoing validity of the Mosaic Law, a conflict that culminated in the Jerusalem Council (Acts 15). From your perspective, does Luke attempt to make a clean break between Judaism and Christianity or does he emphasize the Jewish foundation of Christianity? In other words, what degree of continuity does Luke seem to recognize between Judaism and the church? Be sure to limit your discussion to the book of Acts rather than simply sharing your general perspective on the relationship between Israel and the church.
