Eddie's Bicycle shop has a thriving business repairing bicycles. Trisha runs the reception ares where customers check in their bicycles to be repaired and then later pick up their bicycles and pay their bills. She estomates that the time required to serve a customer on each visit has a uniform distribution between three minutes and eight minutes.

a. Simulate the serive times for five customers by using the following five random numbers: 0.6506, 0.040, 0.8443, 0.4975, 0.8178

b. Calculate the average of the five service times and compare it to the mean of the service-time distribution.

c. Use Excel to generate 500 random observatons and calculate the average. Compare this average to the mean of the service-time distribution.

This question and answer is in the book solution but need help understanding how they got some of the answers and what formula used in excel: Please help with information below.

1. How they arrived at 5.5 as the mean for question b.

2. How to set up excel using the formula for each number in question c. Don't understand how they got all the numbers to input in excel.
