Using Qualitative and Quantitative Data to Identify Potential Solutions for Organizational Problems from Management Perspective

In this course, our focus is to understand the research process, to distinguish among different research approaches, and to evaluate the quality of research studies. Later in our course, we apply this understanding to develop the first two stages of our own business research study, which serves as the Portfolio Project for this course.

For this discussion forum, think about a problem in your organization, your industry, or a non-profit organization (where you have experience). Specifically describe the problem from a management perspective.

Now search Library for 3 peer-reviewed articles related to your topic. The articles should be published within the last five years. Choose one article based on quantitative data and the other article based on qualitative data.

In your initial discussion post:

Compare the purpose of the research for each study.

Compare how the data was collected.

Compare the conclusions that were derived by the authors.

Discuss whether the quantitative or the qualitative research study provided stronger supported conclusions.

Explain why both designs could provide relevant approaches to business research for an organization.

Explain why this topic is important to you.

Support your thoughts and facts with citations and references using the articles, course materials, and other credible sources. Use APA format for all citations and references.
