Case Study: Share the data regarding the water quality and quantity at your local site (Discussion: Planning Your Future), and post it as a Fact Sheet. for other students from different areas to compare and contrast. Exact numbers are not crucial for factors such as availability ("Adequate" or "Inadequate" is fine), however other data such as salinity, pH, and nutrients should be available from local water districts and other online resources.

Question: You should include:

1. Classify Water Quality and source in your local area - Fresh, Marine, Brackish, Ground.
2. Choose three different aquaculture designs that could potentially be installed there (Closed, open, pond, cage, flow through, etc.) and rate each for feasibility based on: physical and chemical features (Volume and supply, temperature, pH, possible chemicals, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, nutrients, waste products, etc.; and suitable species.) (Suitable/Problematic/Unsuitable)
3. For each design, list possible mitigation strategies for each to ensure or increase the availability of sufficient water to supply the project or other alternatives, like recycling/recirculating (See Discussion 4.3)
4. Identify specific threats to local resources in the area you choose, including environmental concerns, disease, water quality changes, etc;
5. Compare the effectiveness of specific resources and organisms incorporated in the system, their ecological role, and the benefits of harvesting and culturing these species at the site, and post your Fact Sheet
