Research to understand the employment process within your organization, from the sourcing of candidates through completion of the hiring process. How does this process work? Work with your manager(s) to assist in your research and to identify the important attributes they look for when interviewing applicants for a vacant position.
Use the results of your research and this week's content to compose a comprehensive summary answering the questions and prompts below. Review the content in this week's readings and videos, and conduct additional outside research as needed.
1. Describe at least two ways that candidates for open positions in your organization are sourced (identified).
2. Compare and contrast internal vs. external applications and identify who is responsible for reviewing applications/resumes.
3. Explain how job postings for an open position may be influenced by the organization's staffing plan.
4. Cite two examples of "red flags" in an application that may indicate that a candidate is not suitable for an open position and explain why.
5. Prepare one interview question that you believe would add value for both the manager and the applicant. Describe why this question would be valuable in the interview process.
6. Make and defend at least one recommendation to improve the recruitment and selection process in your business.
