My Prompt: Compare and contrast Gandhi and King's views and justifications for civil disobedience. Did they agree about the situations in which it ought to be employed? At what point do their theories and practices come apart?

My Argument: Gandhi and King both advocated for civil disobedience as a means of protesting injustice and fighting for change. However, their views on the justification for civil disobedience differed slightly. Gandhi believed that civil disobedience was justified when it was used to protest against unjust laws or policies. King, on the other hand, believed that civil disobedience was justified when it was used to protest against any form of injustice, regardless of whether the laws or policies in question were just or not.

Gandhi believed that civil disobedience was a morally justifiable way to protest against unjust laws or policies. He felt that it was acceptable to disobey laws that were unjust, and that this was a way to bring about change. King, on the other hand, believed that civil disobedience was a morally justifiable way to protest against any form of injustice, regardless of whether the laws or policies in question were just or not.
