Compare and discuss four definitions of leadership.
Everyone seems to know what leadership is but few people can define it. In this course, leadership is 'Setting the appropriate direction for the organization and then getting people to do what's needed for success'. You need to become familiar with a variety of definitions so that you can customize your own leadership framework.
Task Description
Go to the Internet and find four different definitions of leadership, preferably those stated by well-known leaders. Find two that you basically agree with and two that you do not.
Discuss your definitions. What do they have in common and what are the differences. Is it important that you and your colleagues agree on the same definition? Why or why not?
Select two reputable internet based companies, explaining what lessons from each business model could be applied to your company.
Discuss the pros and cons of free trade
In what type of organization do you think would be most effective for my leadership style, and in what organization would it be least effective? Compare and contrast these two types of organizations.
