Case: For this reading journal, please comprehensively answer each question below. In order to meet the minimum standards according to the rubric, please include specific examples from the texts and references to previous journals when discussing your reading experiences in order to demonstrate reflection on the implementation and effectiveness of new reading, focus, and/or time management strategies. Texts referenced in this journal include: Phillis Wheatley's "On Virtue," selections from Benjamin Franklin's Autobiography, the Original Draught and third draft of Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence, and the Haitian Declaration of Independence.

1. (Can be fake) Compare and contrast your reading experience as a whole in this module with that from the previous module, considering the following: where you read and what time of day; whether you got distracted at any point and how you handled those distractions; and what reading strategies you used for any of the texts from last week compared to those you used this week. To what extent did your experience reading last week shape your approach to the texts for this week? How effective were any of the new strategies you implemented? What changes will you make to your reading practice moving forward based on your experiences of reading in this module?
2. Select two texts from the Enlightenment readings in this module and provide the following for each text:
   1. A paraphrase that sticks closely to the facts of the text,
   2. At least 2 themes you've observed in the text,
   3. A statement of what commentary you think the text might be making about these themes or what stance it may be taking on these themes,
   4. A strong line (or passage) from the text that supports the above statement,
   5. An observation you made about the language or patterns of the text, and
   6. An explanation of how specifically this passage + observation relates to your reading/interpretation (the above statement).
