Assignment: Compare and Contrast Leadership and Management

You have learned about the importance of leadership and the differences between leadership and management and are now ready to share your knowledge with others. For your first assignment, imagine you are listening to your colleagues having a heated debate about leadership and management. One colleague claims there is so much overlap, they are really the same functions. The other colleague strongly disagrees, stating they are completely different. You decide to do some research and put an end to the argument by preparing a chart to compare and contrast the two. In your table, be sure to include the following with examples supported by scholarly sources:

• Definitions of leadership and management
• Distinctions and similarities between leadership and management
• How each approach helps an organization function effectively and grow
• Why leadership is important

Create your table as a Word document following the example below:

Your chart should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect graduate-level writing and APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University's Academic Integrity Policy.

Length:  A 2-3 page chart which addresses each of the criterion listed above in detail. Include a separate APA title and reference page.
