Karen Jarvis, a director of sales, Hal Boynton, president have responded to Kim’s request for a meeting. Kim has been with the company for over 15 years, compared to an average of 6 years of other employees. Kim has begun to feel underpaid as far her own living expenses begin to increase and is demanding a raise from Karen and Hal, arguing that she has to maintain her current lifestyle, she has seniority over everyone and, she always goes beyond the call of duty.

Hal is probably correct that if news of Kim’s raise gets out, there will be a lot of disgruntle employees. What are recommendations you would give to this company to avoid such trouble in the future?
