COMP 3066 Linux System Administration - George Brown College
Services to choose from:
1. FTP server (both public access and private user accounts).
2. Mail server (sending and receiving mail).
3. DNS server.
4. Firewall, enforcing inbound and outbound rules (packet filtering).
5. Proxy Server.
1) In one paragraph state the purpose of the selected service.
2) Provide the steps required to implement the selected service. The service must run on VCENTER Server 2. Please note that this has to be a detailed description of all steps required to install and configure the selected service.
- Include all the commands you used.
- Name the configuration files you used and include all the changes you made to the content of those configuration files.
- Include screenshots where applicable.
- The instructor must be able to use the provided steps to implement the service without having to do any research.
- The service MUST successfully run on VCENTER Server 2. If the steps are provided but the service is not running on VCENTER Server 2, only 2 out of 6 marks will be given.
3) Provide the steps required to test the implemented service using the VCENTER Desktop as the client. Please note that this has to be a detailed description
of all steps required to install and run the client used to connect and test the configured service.
- Include all the commands you used.
- Include screenshots or a screen recording that demonstrate client connecting and using the implemented service.
- The instructor must be able to use the provided steps to test the implemented service without having to do any research.
- The client must successfully connect to the implemented service.
