Assignment Tasks

1) With the help of diagram discuss the concept of Client server architecture. Compare and contrast 2- tier and 3 tier architecture.

2) Assume that you are working as a database administrator in well-known hospital in Muscat. Your major task is to ensure the availability of the database server all the time for the functioning of the hospital. In this regard your database server needs to be running efficiently. Discuss the parts instance; you are required to draw the diagram for the components of the instance and critically discuss Startup and Shutdown SQL commands.

3) a. Sohar Industries has different divisions like Manufacturing, sales. Each division has its own database. These databases are linked to the Headquarters database. With the help of diagram, explain how you would view this in a homogeneous environment.
