Assignment Objective

The assignment for Digital Media Production is an individual assignment which will focus on students' aptitude towards the design and development of Digital Media based on real time requirements.

Assignment Tasks

1) Task 1
Submit a work proposal for this assignment or before 28/10/2020 (23:59) which must include:
• Understanding of deliverables - a detail description of deliverables.
• General overview of proposed plan - initial understanding of solution to task2 along with resources identified.
• Timeline for completion of the given tasks.
The work proposal must be submitted in a word file through the link available in Moodle.

2) Task 2

Using the application program which you have learnt during the Digital Media Production classes, plan and develop a short video showcasing beauty of Designing a video about the man of peace "His Majesty Sultan Qaboos". Apart from background music, you must add voice narration in Arabic or English and the video duration should be for a maximum of 2 minutes. At least 5 different types of camera angles / shot must be demonstrated in the video. Add complete credit roll and render the final output in High Definition format. The video should include two options for the audio - Stereo and 5.1 Channel. You should describe these technologies in your report also.

Originally shot real time of designing this video (taken within your organizing work in it) is highly encouraged however you can also include some freely available stock audio and video footages to enhance the quality of your video. You must use only copyright free / royalty free video footage and music to your video and make sure the source is mentioned in the credit roll as well as in the reference section of the report. If you have any reservations in recording/dubbing voice, then you can use any online text to speech convertor tool. But ensure that audio must be properly synchronized with the video.

The duration of the final video should range between 1:30 - 2:00 minutes, including the title and credit rolls (maximum 10 seconds).

Render this video in high quality that suits the requirements projection on bigger screens. Hence, select the appropriate video codec. The rationale for choosing this video codec and resolution should be defined clearly in the report along with other details.

The tasks to be completed are as follows:
i. Compile a report by clearly defining your idea and plan for the video.
ii. Develop a storyboard for the idea (Minimum 10 frames).
iii. Choose the appropriate audio and video elements for this project.
iv. Editing of video with sound mixing (2.0 and 5.1 channel).
v. Save and render your video appropriate format suitable for bigger screens.
vi. Describe the rationale for choosing the video codec and resolution chosen for the video output which is meant for the bigger screen projection in the report.

Therefore, the above Task 2 is divided in two parts
a. Video (iii, iv and v)
b. Report in 1200 to 1400 words (i, ii and vi)
