Paediatric case

Thirteen-year-old schoolboy, Carter, has been newly diagnosed with juvenile arthritis and is not wanting to take his medications as they make him feel unwell. He has the involvement of two major joints (knees) and has presented to the hospital outpatient's department for further management of pain and a management plan. Carter was diagnosed with high functioning autism 5 years ago and has required additional learning and social supports at school allowing him to achieve appropriate academic standards
