1.) Describe the drive, the observations, and the lessons about community shared by Uncle Cleve to Clifton as they took the left fork in the road. What were the main lessons Uncle Cleve shared? For this question, focus on the material covered on pages 139-144.
2.) Clifton learned that his "own efforts could alter the course of his life. While at Dow Air Force Base, he was encouraged by the crowd, the social life, the era itself, and his fellow soldiers to enjoy the "good times" when he did to "enjoy life" because he was "goin" to Vietnam anyway?
3.) Clifton noticed that many of his fellow soldiers talked about the night before. They rarely mentioned the future or what their lives might look like beyond the military. Clifton thought differently. He set his own path while still being friendly with these freinds, but he was not "stuck" in the paths that were not future-focused. Identify some of the paths Clifton took that took him on different paths. Explain how the influences he encountered on that path impacted his future.
4.) The "Timeless Application" found on pages 151-154 offers very interesting notions about creating an "intentional community?" Describe four insights you gained from this discussion.
