The scenario/situation given is a person viewed an informal leader:

• He/she is a member of a team of 7 assigned a task. Imagine a university team project or a work-based team project. Team members must rely on each other to be successful.
• The difficult team member (Member M) continually volunteers for mission critical parts of the team's weekly assignment and/or project deliverable. They have signed up for critical assignments on your team's project.
• Member M displays characteristics of being unorganized. They forget articles, videos, workplace project data or the textbook. They cannot locate the assignment papers or work files on their iPad. They do not come to the meetings with their assignments or previous meeting work completed.
• He/she typically starts on his/her team assignments late.
• He/she usually delivers project assignments right at the last minute or requires an extension.
• He/she has called another team member on previous projects at the last minute to ask for help to complete their assignment.
• Team Member M is behind on their deliverable(s) and is displaying the above characteristics.
