Consultation meeting consult with your team and external stakeholders. The purpose of the meeting is to identify and assess risks, determine appropriate risk treatment actions and explain the risk management process.

You are required to facilitate a 5-10 minute consultation meeting with a work team. You will need to organise a minimum of two to four meeting participants. 

In this task you will be required to detail how you would address this by using: 

• an agenda
• a set of questions and supporting documentation
• any preparatory messaging /emails that you consider necessary.
• How would you report 
• What style of negotiation would you use & why

When planning for your meeting you will need to ensure that you review & complete the observation checklist which highlights certain aspects that your assessor needs to observe 

During the above outlines for the meeting you will use the following criteria:

1. Acknowledge the team members present. 
2. Communicate the purpose of the meeting to team members. 
3. Communicate the risk management process. 
4. Invite and encourage participation, initiative and decision-making in improving risk management processes, identifying and treating risks. 
5. Use a technique (such as brainstorming or question and answer) to collaborate with the team about risks related to your Scope in Event 2 and obtain support for risk management activities. 
6. Demonstrate how you would use active listening, questioning and negotiation skills to ensure the ideas, views and opinions of all team members are considered and negotiated. 
7. Use clear language and appropriately present the information, seek feedback and confirm understanding, adjusting communication strategies where required. 
8. Demonstrate mentoring and coaching techniques to support continuous improvement processes. 
9. Use appropriate workplace protocols and conventions.
