Babara is an HACC (he Commonwealth Home and Community Care) Discuss how Alice should react to Barbara's request. Client who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is 77, highly dependent because of severe arthritis and in constant pain. The specialist has advised that she should have an operations and wishes her to sign to allow him freedom to remove whatever is necessary when he operates. Barbara has decided not to have the operation, despite the optimism of the surgical team. Her family members are willing to let her do as she wishes. However, the specialist is urging the operation. Barbara is very nervous and asks one of her carers, Alice, to stay while she talks with the surgeon and to help her put forward her point of view.
