You have been asked to chair a committee charged with drafting a company-wide mission statement. At the first committee meeting, some members said it should focus only on customers, while others felt it should include reference to employees, suppliers, and society in general. In addition, some members felt it should be very specific so that those reading it know exactly what the company stands for, while others felt it should be much more general in order to permit expansion into new product lines without the need to rewrite it. How will you rectify these differences of opinions?
