Design a practice that that would help employees have a better understanding and commitment to organizational wellness efforts.
We can think of wellness in many ways. Many organizations have wellness programs to help individuals meet personal goals. In order to approach this correctly you will need to do some background research. Think about how organizations address wellness and why they do (you might need to do some reading on wellness, stress, the cost of medical benefits). You could check the popular press or professional groups such as SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management).
You will need to find someone who is employed. This could be a neighbor, relative or someone who attends your church or social group. Try to find someone who has worked at their employer for at least 3 years (it could be more). Tell them about our project. I have attached a consent form that you must use. You do not give me the consent form. You make a copy for your client and one for you. Find a person who will agree to be interviewed twice. When they agree, make appointments for both interviews. Then move to the next step.
Part 1
Empathize: Now that you have a client (they signed the release), you must interview them. In this interview ask the following types of questions:
-Ask: Where, when, what about their wellness experiences at work. Ask: Tell me about the last time you received wellness information from your organization. All of your questions should not be about messages, I'm just giving you an example.
- Have them tell you a story about a good or bad experience related to meeting wellness goals.
-Ask why several times to follow up on a comment. If you don't ask why you won't have enough info to ideate.
-Do not ask yes/no questions and expect to get a good grade.
Do NOT ask things like, "Do you hate exercising (leading the client). Instead ask things like, "What "What types of challenges do you have met your exercise targets?"
Type up your interview and client description (generally describe your client-Bob an engineer who works in a design studio, he has been with his employer 10 years. Be sure to include the client descriptor and have typed questions and answers for my review. All questions must focus on the prompt, and you should have at least 10 questions. Your interview should take approximately an hour.
