Your task is to analyse, on the basis of research, a particular company's commitment to corporate social responsibility. 

You should research how the company demonstrates it's commitment to CSR using the corporate web site or other source.  Find one or two ways you feel the company demonstrates their commitment (on the company website you will often find some good things they have to say about themselves!).  You should then look for sources such as newspaper and magazine websites that either refute or support the company's commitment to social responsibility.  Some things to consider are:

• non-discriminatory hiring, promotion, and retention practices;
• environmental issues;
• customer relationships;
• supplier relationships.
• concern for the community and charities

Steps in writing the report

1. Choose a business. The Industry Canada and Canada's Top Socially Responsible Companies websites are good places to look for a corporation for this report. You can use the links listed on the content page of this activity to access these websites. Communicate your choice of business with your teacher before proceeding.
2. Gather information about the business? commitment to corporate social responsibility from the business? website, newspapers, magazines and other Internet sources.
