agree with Mary Hansel's argument that appealing the Supreme Court decision to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights can have a positive impact on reproductive rights in the United States. As mentioned by Hansel, if the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights decided in favor of upholding Roe vWade other countries and nations would also consider the right to abortion a natural human right. In my opinion, everyone around the world should have access to safe and healthy abortions regardless of their reasoning and the ruling by this commission will ensure that all women will have this basic right to choose. This should be deemed a human right because until a fetus is naturally birthed , it should not be expected to make decisions for itself. There are many instances where women should not be expected to carry their fetuses to term such as if it is unhealthy to the mother or child, the fetus is a product of rape, or incest . No person should have to go through pregnancy unless they are sure that they can mentally physically , and financially support their "child ". For these reasons strongly believe that the right to abortion should be a human right and with the support of the Inter - American Commission on Human Rights , the United States and the rest of the world can quickly adapt and change to help women .
