Collect personal information from international customers

I believe that the inability of marketers to collect personal information from international customers can have negative effects on the accuracy and overall success of your business. Our reading reminds us that “Information is the key component in developing successful marketing strategies, avoiding major marketing blunders, and promoting efficient exchange systems” (Cateora, 2011, p. 220). Without this information, marketers would find it difficult to know what type of product or services to offer potential customers in that country. When we travel to various places in the Caribbean, we find it interesting that people do not share personal information about themselves as willingly as Americans do. This may be due to cultural differences between our two nations, or that they simply do not feel comfortable sharing their personal information to strangers. But, as marketers, we must find the connection that will allow others to share enough information for us to use as a guide to identify how we can promote our business to them.
