Assessment Description
Identifying anomalies and privacy issues allows you to collect and analyze the data mining system.
Suppose a local bank has hired you to analyze their data mining system. The bank has been studying debit card usage patterns for home renovation stores for several of its customers. The bank would like to send its customers information on home improvement loans.
Create a 10 to 12-slide digital presentation for the bank stakeholders, addressing the following:
• Discuss how this may conflict with the right to privacy.
• Describe another situation in which you feel that data mining can infringe on privacy.
• Describe a privacy-preserving data mining method that may allow the bank to perform customer pattern analysis without infringing on customers' right to privacy.
• Provide some examples as to where data mining could be used to help society. List at least one way it could be used that may be detrimental to society.
• Considering the definition of an anomaly, identify what types of anomalies can be applied to the bank data mining system.
• Include a title slide, a slide with references, and any essential notes.
Additionally, include graphics that are relevant to the content, visually appealing, and use space appropriately.
While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines.
