Objectives
Requirements
Both the Assessments 1 and 2 are related to the same project case study. Assessment 2 follows on from Assessment 1. In assessment 1, you have presented your system development project and the management has approved your system development project. Next, you will investigate and discover the information system requirements and document the analysis results as in various types of modelling diagrams. In the Assessment 2- Practical & Written Assessment, you will explain how your project team used techniques like interview, survey questionnaire, observation, etc. to investigate what the users in the given case study Harmony Hospital Pharmacy expect the system to work.
The collected information and your analysis results have given you a deep insight of the system to prepare some very useful models for the management and the development team. The modelling diagrams aims to present the system user requirements well, esp. all levels of system functionalities, database schema and detailed system processes. Many models are what you have learnt in this course.
Complete the following tasks and document your work in your written assessment.
The Tasks
1. Explain your choice of the most useful investigation techniques that you have used to investigate the new automated information system, Harmony Hospital Pharmacy system and the reasons for choosing them.
2. After you have analysed your collected information produce the following UML diagrams for Harmony Hospital Pharmacy system.
A Use Case Diagram -
• With all the critical use cases in the entire system
B Domain Model Class Diagram -
• With all important classes needed in the entire system
C An Activity Diagram -
• Prescriptions are written by doctors and sent to the pharmacy. A pharmacy technician reviews each
prescription and sends it to the appropriate pharmacy station.
D A System Sequence Diagram -
• Assume that the Doctor is an actor using the new system for placing an order to the pharmacy.
Note that when developing each diagram, you may make some assumptions which will affect the results of your presented modelling diagram. For examples,
o When analysing an organization's business processes, there are usually some issues which need to be clarified before you can proceed, particularly when the issues affect the way you developed your models.
o In practice you would simply ask the users. In this case you should make reasonable assumptions of what you believe the users would advise you and list those assumptions here.
Right after a presented diagram, explain each diagram to your readers and your assumptions made in modelling it.
Layout of Your Reporting Document
The written assessment (see "Help" to present it in an essay format) should be organized using the following headings and guidelines:
A Cover Title Page
Introduction:
Should clearly define the aims and objectives of the project in the reporting document Explain all findings in the reporting document.
Task 1.
Explain the useful techniques used to investigate the new automated information system, Harmony Hospital Pharmacy system and why they are chosen
Task 2.
The user requirement specifications presented as UML models by adopting an object- orientated analysis approach:
Task 2A. A Case Diagram for the entire system;
Task 2B. A Class Diagram for the entire system;
Task 2C. An Activity Diagram - with the specific requirements as indicated in the task above; and
Task 2D. A System Sequence Diagram - with the specific requirements as indicated in the task above.
Each UML model diagram with clear explanations and assumption(s)
Conclusions
A summary of your findings as to whether or not the project should continue/ how to continue
