Question

In this unit you will find a copy of the Florida Commission on Ethics Guide to the Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees. Read Section I. The History of Florida Ethics Laws and either A or B under Section III. Ethics Laws. The purpose of this code is to promote the public interest and respect of the people for their government and it is also intended to ensure that public officials conduct themselves independently and impartially, not using their offices for private gain other than compensation provided by law.

Comment on this reading and offer your opinion on whether you think the Sunshine Amendment is effective in Florida and whether you think there should be Federal Sunshine Laws. Give an argument for your point of view.
